Summary

This lesson will provide the students with an overview of the following crimes: Robbery, Aggravated Theft, and Theft in the nature of Robbery. By the conclusion of the lesson, students should be thoroughly familiar with all theft-related offences under the applicable law in Kosovo and have the basic knowledge of the correct procedures for investigating these crimes.

The purpose of this lesson is to review with the students the crimes of Robbery, Theft in the nature of Robbery, and Aggravated Theft as presented in GP#28, and take this information a step further to apply the appropriate investigative procedure.

At the conclusion of this lesson, students will be able to:

  1. Identify the seven (7) elements that must be present to determine whether or not a robbery has occurred as mentioned in the lesson.
  2. Identify the different types of robbery a police officer may encounter as stated in the lesson.
  3. Follow the correct procedures for investigating both robberies in progress and robberies not in progress according to the lesson.
  4. Identify the four (4) elements that must be present to determine whether or not a theft in the nature of Robbery has occurred as described in the lesson.
  5. Identify the seven (7) elements that must be present to determine whether or not an aggravated theft has occurred based on the lesson.
  6. Follow the correct procedure for investigating aggravated thefts according to the lesson.
