This online forum, organized by the Strategic Police Matters Unit of the Transnational Threats Department, aims to facilitate the exchange of best practices, lessons learned, and other relevant information sharing in the area of preventing and combating sexual abuse of children on the Internet, as well as to contribute to the development of the e-learning module in the area of counter online child abuse.

The Council adopted a directive aimed at combating sexual abuse and the exploitation of children as well as child pornography. The directive harmonises about 20 criminal offences, setting a high level of penalties.
