For its 2008 Safer Internet Eurobarometer survey the Commission targeted parents of children between 6 and 17 years old from all 27 EU Member States. The main aim of the survey was to investigate parents'; perceptions and views on their children's use of Internet, as well as on the potential risks they may encounter online.

The purpose of this Framework Decision is to approximate the laws and regulations of the Member States in relation to police and judicial cooperation in criminal matters, so as to combat the sexual exploitation of children and child pornography. It introduces a framework of common provisions on criminalisation, sanctions, aggravating circumstances, assistance to victims and jurisdiction.

The purpose of this Convention is to promote cooperation to prevent and combat transnational organized crime more effectively. The Convention represents a major step forward in the fight against transnational organized crime and signifies the recognition by Member States of the seriousness of the problems posed by it, as well as the need to foster and enhance close international cooperation in order to tackle those problems.
