Summary

Briefings are a means of presenting information to supervisors, staffs, or other designated audiences. The techniques employed are determined by the purpose of briefing.

Speaking, presenting and briefing are key skills for the managers of the organisations. Managers who recognize this need to prepare for platform opportunities want to get feedback from other who practices their skills.

The purpose of this block of instruction is to teach the managers the importance of how to brief effectively at the workplace and assist him/her to recognise the opportunities this process gives for helping employees improve their work performance.

At the end of this lesson the students will be able to:

  1. Define “briefing” according to the definition presented during the lesson.
  2. Describe different types of briefings.
  3. Describe the steps of briefings.
  4. Identify the characteristics of effective presentation skills.
  5. Demonstrate conducting an effective and efficient briefing.
