From 6 to 9 August, the Programme Office in Bishkek supported the Ministry of the Interior (MoI) in conducting training courses for community policing officers and juvenile delinquency inspectors (JDIs) of the regional police departments of Osh City and Osh province on the premises of the Community Policing Training Centre campus located in Osh. Due to high turnover within the MoI, especially among community policing officers and JDIs, the POiB continued to support enhancing the capacities of newly-appointed officers. As a result, 80 community policing officers and JDIs enhanced their knowledge on democratic policing principles and mechanisms to contribute to improve public-police co-operation.
