Recommendation adopted by the Committee of Ministers at its 771th meeting.
The Council of Europe Committee of Ministers recommends that governments of member states ensure that effective measures are taken to protect children against sexual exploitation, and review their legislation and practice in the light of the principles contained in the recommendation.
The recommendation addresses issues such as the need for better public awareness, education and information on sexual exploitation of children, the necessary criminal law measures to be adopted, and the necessity of improving victim support, international cooperation and research on the problem.
