Description

Material for a 3-hour lesson, part of the Regional Firearms Dry Training, developed by the KPS Training Department, Kosovo Police Service School

Summary

It is accepted by all that there is not enough firearms training for officers of the KPS. This is being addressed by the formation of Regional re-certification teams and the renewed commitment of all officers involved in the process to increase the amount of range time available to KPS offices. In the interim this course allows officers to refresh their firearms skills with dry training in a controlled and safe training environment. The training and drills in this course are based on the training the officers have done in the KPSS and during re-certification. It is stressed that international officers should not change the drills and practices to ones they are more familiar with from home as, no matter how good their home drills are, if they are not as shown in this lesson they are not approved by the KPSS or KPS Training Dept. The KPS Officers will be confused by different terminology and drills and confusion on range or whilst handling firearms is to be avoided if possible.
