The main objective of this workshop, organized jointly by the Transnational Threats Department (TNTD) and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media (RFoM), is to discuss the relationship between media and counter-terrorism policies and ways to enhance co-operation between governments, civil society and media organizations.
This workshop will contribute to enhancing the criminal justice system co-operation between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in fighting terrorism and organized crime through discussions of direct law enforcement co-operation, mutual legal assistance and inter-agency co-operation mechanisms between law enforcement, prosecutorial and central authorities for the investigation of trans-border organized crime and terrorism cases.

This workshop, organized by the Secretariat's Transnational Threats Department and the OSCE Office in Tajikistan in consultation with the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (UNCTED) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), aims to provide a platform for a first regional exchange of views and experiences with regard to the threat of foreign terrorist fighters in Central Asia.
The aim of this forum is to facilitate the sharing of information among OSCE Counter-Terrorism Network (CTN) principal liaisons designated by OSCE participating States as per Ministerial Council Decision No. 6/03.
