    This self-assessment guide, drafted by the OSCE Secretariat Transnational Threats Department's Borders Unit, is aimed for national agencies of, in the first place, OSCE Participating States and Partners for Co-operation who would deal with cross-border movements following a crisis.

    The Guidebook, prepared by the Border Security and Management Unit of the Transnational Threats Department of the OSCE Secretariat, gives examples of international legal practice in the formation of state borders of new states, outlines the main stages of work on the delimitation and demarcation of state borders, as well as recommendations on the organization of this work.

  • Compendium of Good Practices in Identity Management in the OSCE Region

    The Compendium combines the perspectives of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR)’s work on identity management and freedom of movement, and the OSCE Transnational Threats Department’s work on travel document security. It is the result of consultations initiated in 2013, and the subsequent process has included a series of expert meetings and a detailed questionnaire distributed to all OSCE participating States in August 2016.

  • Information Bulletin on the Drug Situation in the Central Asian Region

    Prepared by the National Information and Analytical Centre on Drug Control and published with the support of the OSCE, this Bulletin contains information covering the current status and development trends in the drug situation in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan for 2017, as well as measures taken in the fight against the international distribution of drugs. The strategies and analysis presented also promotes the advancement of regional cooperation between the relevant law enforcement bodies of the countries in the region.

  • Controlled Delivery Manual for South-East European Countries

    The Strategic Police Matters Unit at the OSCE’s Transnational Threats Department (TNTD/SPMU) together with the Southeast European Law Enforcement Center (SELEC), developed the current version of the Controlled Delivery Manual, which was first published in 2009.
