  • Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings

    The purposes of this Convention are to prevent and combat trafficking in human beings, protect human rights of the victims of the trafficking, design a framework for the protection and assistance of victims and witnesses.

  • Optional protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography

    Optional Protocol supplements the Convention by providing States with detailed requirements to end the sexual exploitation and abuse of children. It also protects children from being sold for non-sexual purposes—such as other forms of forced labour, illegal adoption and organ donation.

  • Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs

    This Convention aims to combat drug abuse by coordinated international action. There are two forms of intervention and control that work together. First, it seeks to limit the possession, use, trade in, distribution, import, export, manufacture and production of drugs exclusively to medical and scientific purposes. Second, it combats drug trafficking through international cooperation to deter and discourage drug traffickers.

    The report provides an overview of activities focused on the prevention of trafficking in human beings in South Eastern European Countries. The report aims to fill gaps in the previous reports by addressing the issue of prevention of trafficking in human beings, including awareness raising and re-integration processes.
