    The campaign promotes the new powers of the PIK to investigate criminal offences allegedly committed by police employees, the PIK portion in investigating disciplinary violations and inspection of police management areas. The overall purpose of the campaign is to promote the PIK as a civilian external oversight mechanism of the police, as well as to enhance the public confidence in the police.

    This workshop, organised by the Action against Terrorism Unit, Strategic Police Matters Unit of the OSCE Secretariat and the OSCE Center in Bishkek in co-operation with the Kyrgyz Ministry of the Interior. It aims at promoting the development of partnerships between the Police and civil society mainly through the use of community policing tools, to counter violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism (VERLT) while protecting and promoting human rights and fundamental freedoms.

    The purpose of the regional workshop is to facilitate capacity building of the national criminal justice systems in Central Asia, to improve national and international legal co-operation and information exchange between the investigative agencies and central authorities, and to enhance the co-operation between the authorities from Central Asian countries and other source and destination countries involved in money laundering and the financial manipulation of proceeds from crime.
