The OSCE Guidebook on “The Role of Civil Society in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism and Radicalization that Lead to Terrorism: A focus on South-Eastern Europe” is the first in a series of resources produced by the Transnational Threat Department/ Action against Terrorism Unit. This volume provides practical guidance and helpful background for both policy makers and practitioners who are working to advance civil-society-led P/CVERLT initiatives in the South-Eastern European region.
Materials from a training course supported by the Programme Office in Bishkek and the Ministry of the Interior for local communities, targeting young men and women to improve their knowledge of Violent Extremism and Radicalisation Leading to Terrorism (VERLT).
The report was prepared jointly by the by the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) and the Hesse Information and Competence Centre Against Extremism (HKE). It is based entirely on information from the federal and state police and domestic intelligence agencies.
