This training will focus on humanitarian and development work and operating in hostile environments where the risk of being kidnapped/taken hostage is high.
The objective of this online forum was to explore ways to strengthen public-private partnerships on KFR and to find mechanisms for further engagement with civil society, the business community and humanitarian organisations in the prevention and combating of hostage-taking and KFR in compliance with international human rights standards.
The four-day training focused on definitions of terrorism and types of hostage takers and addressed different phases of negotiations, including understanding the situation and information gathering.
