Summary

The goal of this domain is to present students with knowledge including names of drugs, what they look like, how they are used, symptoms they produce, and possible hazards they may pose for police.

At the conclusion of this lesson, students will be able to:

  1. Identify and name the five major groups in the pharmacological classification of the most abused drugs.
  2. Identify by sight the packaging, paraphernalia of cocaine and crack-cocaine and list, according to the information presented in class, the methods of administering the two drugs.
  3. Identify the packaging and associated paraphernalia used with ecstasy and LSD, and the methods of administering the two drugs, according to the information presented in class.
  4. Identify the packaging and associated paraphernalia seen with opium and heroin, and list the methods of administering the two drugs, according to the information presented in class.
  5. Identify packaging and associated paraphernalia seen with rohypnol and inhalants, and list the methods of administering the two drugs, according to the information presented in class.
  6. Identify packaging and associated paraphernalia seen with marijuana and hashish, and list the methods of administering the two drugs, according to the information presented in class.
  7. While searching a vehicle, locate drugs found in three common hiding places, as described in class.
  8. List one officer safety concern associated with; drugs, drug paraphernalia and clandestine laboratories.
