This meeting, organized by the Italian Chairmanship with the support of the OSCE Strategic Police Matters Unit of the Transnational Threats Department (TNTD/SPMU) will provide the platform for law enforcement experts, prosecutors and other criminal justice practitioners, governmental officials, as well as representatives from international and non-governmental organizations, civil society and academia, to share information and exchange views, lessons learned and best practices.
The participants will be invited to examine and discuss legislative instruments, co-operation mechanisms, policing strategies and best practice examples for the
purpose of strengthening efforts of OSCE participating States and Partners for Co-operation in addressing new and emerging crimes through forward-looking approaches to policing. The working sessions will cover new and evolving transnational crime threats, ways for national, regional and international law enforcement agencies to address these threats, and the role of confiscation of criminal proceeds in the fight against profit-driven crime.
