The guidebook, which has been developed with the support of the Mission to Skopje, includes comprehensive information on victims’ rights and police obligations towards them.
The care and protection of victims of crimes represents one step forward in the realization of a priority set out in "The Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Interior for 2017-2019: Further development of democratic principles in police work for the improvement of trust among the citizens and police, including the respect of human rights".
Police must give victims support without discrimination, with sensitivity and respect for their dignity. The information in this handbook serves as a roadmap for police officers and contributes to the development of competencies in the identification of and working with victims of criminal acts.
