Summary

The planning exercise targeted police chiefs and crisis inspectors. During the workshop, the Mission to Skopje organised a table-top exercise to provide participants with planning tools for different crisis situations, and to discuss communication among them in preparing for crises.

The workshop was part of the Mission’s overall support for the professionalization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, focusing on the critical incident concept, which includes the establishment of a command and control structure, risk matrices, data collection and ensuing analysis. This second phase of the activity on concrete planning for crises built upon the first phase of the workshop in 2017, which was focused on management and response to a crisis for police at the local and central levels.
