Programme Office in Astana supports training of trainers on countering cyber-crime for law enforcement agencies

From 9 to 13 October, the Programme Office supported a train-the-trainer (ToT) course on countering cyber-crime for representatives of law enforcement agencies in Almaty. The event was co-organised with the United States Embassy in Kazakhstan and the Central Asian Regional Information Coordination Centre for Combating Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC). Some 12 officials from the Interior Ministry, the Prosecutor General’s Office and its Law Enforcement Academy and the State Revenues Committee of the Ministry of Finance attended the course. Future trainers went through the fundamentals of computer hardware, networks, countering hacking techniques, information security, Internet resources and the handling of electronic evidence.
