The Transnational Threats Department/Border Security and Management Unit (TNTD/BSMU) is organising a Training of Trainers (ToT) for the Gender Focal Points of the OSCE Gender Equality Platform in Border Security and Management (BSM). The event is also supported by the Strategic Police Matters Unit (SPMU), by the OSCE Gender Section and by the United Nations Standing Police Capacity/Police Division (SPC/PD), Department of Peace Operations (DPO).
The aim of the ToT is to build and strengthen the participants’ skills in gender analysis and mainstreaming in border and law enforcement agencies. In addition, the ToT will enable the participants to produce accessible and compelling gender related strategies and present them in a simple manner to aid decision-making on gender mainstreaming within border and law enforcement agencies. The participants will learn about “Actor mapping” approach, advocacy strategy, and persuasive communication techniques engaging in highly interactive exercises throughout the entire programme.
This initiative is part of the ExB Project on Women Leadership and Empowerment Initiative in Border Security and Management aimed at enhancing the capacities of the OSCE participating States’ border security and management agencies by developing sustainable mechanisms to promote gender equality and mainstreaming at all levels in border agencies.
