Lesson 1: Categorization of religious extremist groups (Day 1)

As law enforcement officers, which are countering terrorism, our first duty is to identify our targets correctly. That why, while we are dealing with religious extremism we should put groups in categories based on their level of violence and ideology.

The goal of this lesson is to provide the learners with the knowledge of categorization of religious groups that will assist them in investigating terrorist cases.

At the end of this lesson the students will be able to:

1. Explain the three main ways for categorization of religious groups and describe the differences of categories
2. Describe the characteristics of each group
