Lesson 13: Criminal law study — Criminal procedure (L)

Description

Material for the 2-hour lesson, part of the Applicable Law in Kosovo training course, developed by the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo and the OSCE Mission in Kosovo

Summary

The goal of this lesson is to provide Police Inspectorate staff with an introduction to the applicable law that governs the process of giving evidence in court. It is likely that Inspectorate officers may occasionally be required to give evidence in court (in connection with investigations into police misconduct) and therefore must be aware of these requirements.

At the end of this lesson Inspectorate staff will be able to:

  1. Identify the rules regarding the order in which evidence is presented in a trial
  2. State the ordinary oath taken by witnesses in court
  3. Describe the provisions in relation to inconsistencies in a witness’ evidence
  4. Demonstrate the ability to recall the more important points of knowledge from the lesson
