Summary

Freedom of movement is one of the most frequently violated rights in Kosovo. Why this right is so important? What is the role of the police in connection with this right? Is it the same than freedom of liberty? During the lesson we will try to answer these questions.

The goal of this lesson is to help for the participants to understand the notion of “freedom of movement” as a right with responsibilities and restrictions.

By the end of the lesson, the participants should be able to do the following:

  1. Identify the basic elements of the freedom of movement
  2. Define the notion of the freedom of movement as a human right
  3. Discuss the restrictions to the freedom of movement as listed in the European Convention on Human Rights
