Summary

The previous lesson provided you with the legal definitions of basic theft, severe theft, robbery etc. You also had examples and scenarios to examine to ascertain what offences had been committed. You should know these definitions and the required elements to prove a crime. This lesson will cover many aspects of theft investigation. This lesson will provide general information on theft investigation and then provide you to test your knowledge by completing a witness interview and then completing a incident report form.

The goal of this lesson is to provide the students with a review of the basic theft offence definitions and the proper procedure for investigating these types of crime.

At the conclusion of this lesson, students will be able to:

  1. Outline the basic steps required in investigating a theft.
  2. Given a role-play scenario, properly fill out an incident report form involving a theft offence.
