Summary

Basic Life Support (BLS) is a sequence of actions. These actions, taken during the first few minutes of an emergency, are critical to survival. The following activity is designed to introduce students to the provision of Adult BLS services within an integrated emergency care system. This will provide Emergency Responders an insight on BLS services and how they fit into a continuous system of emergency care

To allow students opportunity to observe, practice, and perform Adult CPR skills associated with basic life support

At the end of this lesson, the students will be able to:

  1. Identify the first three steps used when approaching a Patient.
  2. Identify procedure for Conscious and Unconscious Patient.
  3. Demonstrate the ABCs on an Adult Patient.
  4. Demonstrate One-Rescuer Adult CPR.
  5. Demonstrate the Recovery Position.
