Summary

The goal of this lesson is to provide Police Inspectorate staff with an introduction to the applicable criminal law on witnesses. This has importance to their audit function in relation to KPS performance, as well as the principles that apply to the investigation of serious misconduct by KPS officers.

At the end of this lesson Inspectorate staff will be able to:

  1. State the four (4) grounds on which an injured party may have an authorised representative
  2. List at least four (4) classes of person who are exempted as witnesses by the PCPC
  3. Describe the provisions of the PCPC that relate to expert witnesses
  4. Demonstrate the ability to recall the more important points of knowledge from the lesson
