Summary

The goal of this lesson is encourage participants to see law enforcement as human rights protector and guarantor and to stress the role of law enforcement as agent of the state, impartial enforcer of democratically determined societal codes, laws and regulations.

By the end of the lesson the participants will be able to answer the following questions:

  1. What is the role of law enforcement in civil society?
  2. What does it mean that police officers as professional are accountable state agents?
