Lesson 3: Role and Responsibilities of the Trainer, Motivation and Learning Styles


This lesson is a part of the course "Trainer Skills Course for Anti-Trafficking Trainers" developed by the Police Development Unit of the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje


The goal of this lesson is to provide the participants with an overview of the Roles and Responsibilities of a Trainer, together with information regarding the motivation of learners, and what makes up the Learning Environment.

At the conclusion of this lesson, participants will be able to:

  1. Define what is expected of a trainer
  2. Define the purpose of Practical Training in the Anti-Trafficking of Human Beings
  3. Interpret the Batari’s Box model of Attitude and Behaviour
  4. List some of the qualities that make a good trainer
  5. Interpret and define motivation
  6. Define the term “Safe Learning Environment”
  7. Give examples of the conditions that need to exist in a safe learning environment
  8. List four (4) styles of training.
