Summary

The goal of this lesson is to provide Police Inspectorate staff with an introduction to the law that relates to the protection of witnesses in criminal cases. Specifically, it will look at protection orders and orders of anonymity.

At the end of this lesson Inspectorate staff will be able to:

  1. List the types of protective measure that a judge can order
  2. Describe the grounds for an order of anonymity for a defence witness
  3. Demonstrate the ability to recall the more important points of knowledge from the lesson
