Summary

Basic Life Support (BLS) is a sequence of actions. These actions, taken during the first few minutes of an emergency, are critical to survival. The following activity is designed to introduce students to the provision of Adult Two-Rescuer BLS services within an integrated emergency care system. This will provide Emergency Responders an insight on BLS services and how they fit into a continuous system of emergency care.

To allow students opportunity to observe, practice, and perform Two-Rescuer Adult CPR skills associated with basic life support.

At the end of this lesson, the students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate Two-Rescuer Adult CPR.
  2. Identify when to interrupt CPR
  3. Demonstrate removing a Foreign Body Airway Obstruction –Conscious
  4. Demonstrate removing a Foreign Body Airway Obstruction –Unconscious
