Summary

The goal of this lesson is to provide Police Inspectorate staff with an introduction to the law that relates to the examination (interview) of a person in criminal proceedings. This includes the rights of such persons, the conduct of the examination and the manner in which it is recorded.

At the end of this lesson Inspectorate staff will be able to:

  1. List the rights of a person during an examination (interview)
  2. State the key requirements of the conduct of an examination (interview)
  3. Describe the legal requirements for recording examinations (interviews)
  4. Demonstrate the ability to recall the more important points of knowledge from the lesson
