Summary

KPS Officers working at Border Control Points must have a good awareness of how to safely conduct their duties at all times. The following lesson will provide you with some ways of work that will enhance the safety of you and your colleagues, and provide a standard way of working at the border.

The purpose of this lesson is that participants should understand the safety precautions a border police officer should use when dealing with persons and vehicles at a border control check-point.

At the end of this lesson, the student will be able to:

  1. Explain the importance of ensuring that all issue safety equipment is in good working order prior to the start of duty. List four (4) general points regarding equipment check
  2. List five (5) general rules regarding the use of radios and radio procedure while working at the border
  3. List eight (8) general rules when dealing with a person or persons at the border
  4. List seven (7) general rules when dealing with a vehicle at the border
