Summary

The importance of the Kosovo Police Officer knowing and understanding the KPS Policies and Procedures cannot be emphasised enough. The KPS Officer’s ability to perform his/her duties is based on Officer Skills training and the KPS Policy and Procedure Manual.

There are a number of KPS Policies currently in effect, and that number will, in all likelihood, continue to grow over the years. All of the KPS Policies are equally important, and compliance with all of them is both expected and required of all officers of The KPS. There are some of the KPS Policies that are more High Profile than others. It is these High Profile Policies that have been selected for in-class presentation within this Lesson. Further coverage of KPS Policies will be made as part of later Lessons and Field Training.

Policies and Procedures are the framework that gives each officer guidelines to perform his/her daily duties and to establish minimum standards expected of all KPS Officers.
