Memorandum of Understanding and Co-operation between the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan and the National Information and Analytical Center on Drug Control (NIACDC) under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan

This Memorandum was signed by the parties on 22 January 2013

Summary

The Parties to the Memorandum expressed their intentions and interests to:

  • Continue co-operation through the organization of courses in the area combating drug trafficking for representatives of law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan in the training centres of the EU countries;
  • assist NIACDC in the preparation and the publication of analytical materials on drug situation with proposals to improve the organization of the fight against drug trafficking and their abuse at the national, regional and international levels;
  • provide practical assistance to NIACDC in organizing and conducting training workshops for the secretaries of the regional drug control commissions of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions (hokimiyats) and Tashkent city, including the secretaries of the commissions hokimiyats of cities and regions, experts of the Drug Service of the Republic, including experts of the narcological service – chief physicians, heads of methodical organization units and social workers;
  • continue co-operation on the study, compilation and dissemination international and national experiences on prevention drug addiction and the fight against drug trafficking, etc .;
  • facilitate participation of NIACDC representatives in international conferences, seminars on the fight against drug trafficking and
    reducing the drugs demand.
