On 20 and 21 March, the Mission organised a conflict analysis workshop as part of its longstanding support to the Brčko District Government’s Co-ordination Body for implementation of the Strategy of BiH for Prevention and Combating Terrorism and its corresponding Action Plan for the District. In addition to members of the Co-ordination Body, workshop beneficiaries included representatives of civil society and the education, health, and social protection sectors – all of whom improved their understanding of ways to effectively conduct P/C VERLT activities in a location-specific manner and in line with human rights standards. A thorough assessment of the current situation in BD for this form of engagement, as well as identification of areas for improvement in local institutions, led to a joint conclusion that the relevant institutions currently lack important capacity in this sector.
