Mission to Serbia partners with Russian Ministry of Interior in helping Serbian police fight cybercrime

Summary

To support Serbia in effectively responding to cybercrime, from 8 to 12 April, in Voronezh, the Russian Federation, the Mission together with the Serbian and the Russian Ministries of the Interior organised a five-day intensive training course for Serbian police officers on the use of modern technologies in detecting, seizing, and examining digital evidence. The course equipped eight officers, including one female officer, with knowledge and skills to effectively and competently carry out relevant investigations and operational duties.

In another activity related to cybercrime, from 18 to 19 April, the Mission together with the MoI’s Service for Combating Organized Crime organised the final of four two-day training courses on the collection and documentation of information on the Internet. Twelve participants, six of whom were women, representing the police districts of Leskovac, Kruševac, Niš, Pirot, Prokuplje and Vranje, learned how to conduct research, and collect and document information from open source databases and social media.
