Mission to Serbia supports police workshop on fighting corruption

Summary

To contribute to sustainable development of police capacities to fight corruption, on 19-20 February in Belgrade, and on 22-23 February in Vrnjačka Banja, the Mission, jointly with the Ministry of Interior’s Service for Combatting Organized Crime, initiated the first two of four planned workshops on investigating the use of virtual money and open source databases.

Twenty-five police officers from across Serbia attending each workshop learned how to search available databases and ways to use crypto-currency. Open source databases are just one of the six topics to be tackled in the forthcoming period. Two national trainers were selected to deliver the training modules and share their knowledge, experience and expertise with the trainees. All participants who attended this workshop had also completed the four-week specialized training course on corruption held in the Basic Police Training Center in Sremska Kamenica in 2017.
