Summary

On 7 December, the Mission to Skopje and the Association of Public Prosecutors organised a workshop on hate crime data collection to discuss current modalities and challenges in registering hate crime. The participants assessed that most of the public prosecution offices register crimes manually, are understaffed, and rarely use the electronic Case Management System (CMS), for which many public prosecutors are not adequately trained and the system’s case numbering is not unified with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the courts. The participants recommended that training on the CMS be organized urgently in the near future and use of the system should become obligatory for prosecutors.
