Mission to Skopje organizes two-day workshop on combating corruption for law enforcement

Description

Summary

From 20 to 21 June, the Mission, in co-operation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MoIA) and the Italian Embassy in Skopje, as well as Italian law enforcement experts, held a workshop at the MoIA’s training center in Idrizovo to increase the institutional capacity of over 30 top- and mid-level management staff of the main law enforcement institutions, including the Public Prosecutor’s Office, to combat corruption.

The workshop covered the cycle of combating corruption from policy-making and legislation, implementation of laws and regulations, as well as investigation mechanisms. In addition, the workshop provided law enforcement officers with the opportunity to learn about prevention mechanisms within their own structures and to raise their awareness on best practices in police services.
