Summary

On 13-14 June, the Mission provided specialized training to the newly-established anti-trafficking mobile teams which are operating in Skopje, Bitola, Gevgelija, Kumanovo and Tetovo.

The teams are composed of social workers, police officers and civil society organizations and are primarily tasked to engage in outreach to trafficking victims and other vulnerable and at-risk groups. The training focused on indicators for identification and standard operating procedures when dealing with trafficking victims, early risk assessment, verbal and non-verbal communication, protection, and referral and reintegration of trafficking victims in line with national legislation and international standards. It enabled the mobile teams to increase their knowledge and practical skills in identifying and protecting victims of trafficking and other vulnerable people while applying a human rights-based and gender-sensitive approach.
