Description

The meeting aims to develop the content of the on-line training on gender equality mainstreaming in border security and management.

Summary

The meeting brings participants together to continue developing the content of the on-line training on gender equality mainstreaming in border security and management (BSM). It will conducted in co-operation with the European Network of Policewomen (ENP) and International Association of Women Police (IAWP). In addition to contributing to the 54th IAWP Barcelona Training Conference entitled “Equality & Security” on 9th -13th October 2016, the participants will be working on the design and drafting of specialized training materials for the on-line training on gender equality mainstreaming in BSM.

The same officially appointed members of the OSCE GEBSM Platform as well as the members of the OSCE BSM NFP Network Working Group on Gender Mainstreaming are invited to take active part in both above mentioned activities.

These meetings are part of the Women Leadership and Empowerment Initiative for Border Security and Management Agencies aimed at enhancing the capacities of the OSCE participating States BSM agencies by developing sustainable mechanisms to promote gender mainstreaming on all levels. In the course of the first project activity that was held in Helsinki in May 2016 the OSCE Gender Equality Platform for Border Security and Management (GEBSM Platform) was launched.
