On 3 and 5 May in Prishtinë/Priština, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo (Mission), in co-operation with the Chief Prosecutor’s Office, organized a training on confiscation procedures. The training was delivered by the Kosovo Coordinator for Combating Economic Crimes and focused on the application of relevant articles in the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code pertaining to sequestration, temporary sequestration, and confiscation procedures, as well as on provisions of the Law on Extended Powers for Confiscation of Assets. Case-law from the European Court of Human Rights was also referenced. It was provided to police officers, prosecutors and officers from the Anti-Corruption Agency. In line with its mandate, the Mission will continue to support justice system institutions in further aligning their practices with rule of law and human rights requirements, including in the area of combating corruption.
