Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina organised two youth summits on countering violent extremism

Summary

On 18 and 19 April in Teslić, and on 21 and 22 April in Vogošća, the Mission and the BiH Ministry of Security organized two youth summits on countering violent extremism, which were attended by more than 100 high school students, pedagogues and psychologists from across BiH. The events aimed to raise awareness and strengthen the ability of young people in countering violent extremism and radicalization, as well as develop school-supported activities to prevent the emergence and spread of violent extremism. The Mission’s Youth Advisory Group, Social Media Team and the BiH Association of High School Students all contributed to the content of the events. During the summits, students produced short video messages promoting dialogue and tolerance. These will be made into a single video by the Social Media Team and featured on the webpage of the Mission’s Supergradjani (Supercitizens) initiative. The youth summits were organized as the final activity of the Mission’s project on supporting dialogue in the prevention of violent extremism in BiH.
