Summary

On 19 September, the Mission gathered representatives of all Local Public Safety Committees (LPSC) in a roundtable to establish an effective communication network, as part of its efforts to assist the safety mechanisms in becoming more effective in their community engagements. In general, the roundtable intended to ensure the integration of these LPSCs in decision making processes at both community and institution levels, as well as to encourage its members to raise issues related to the unequal access and enjoyment of rights in participation of women and men in community safety mechanisms. The activity was implemented in close co-operation with the Community Safety Coordination Office , Kosovo Police and LPSC representatives, including one from the northern Kosovo. Recommendations arising from this meeting will be considered for the new Action Plan of the Community Safety Strategy, which is currently in the drafting stage.
