Summary

The “National Center for Legal Researches” NGO in co-operation with the OSCE office in Yerevan and Police Service of RA initiated and organized “Police-public partnership promotion in the Armenian marzes” project in 2012 which was composed of two parts:

  • Police Open Day
  • Follow-up round tables

“Police open day” events aimed at increasing Public’s trust towards Police, as well as providing the representatives of transitional age (juveniles) with information on police service, its activities and the most dangerous and wide spread criminal events (in particular trafficking, drug addiction and corruption). Project particularly was intended to establish, to promote as well as to develop a greater understanding and interaction between police and juveniles.

“Follow-up round tables” events’ main objective was to evaluate the present police-media relations by revealing and observing the results of effective cooperation between the mentioned institutions based on the issues we considered in the framework of project on “Improvement of Relations between Police-Media” implemented in 2009 as well as to discover the registered results and the problems, hampering to improve the further co-operation in this field.
