Summary

The Mission continued to strengthen the capacities of intelligence analysts from Kosovo Police and Albanian State Police in developing a Serious Organized Crime Threat Assessment (SOCTA) through its two-year project funded by the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF). From 23 to 25 May, 11 analysts of both police services received training from Metropolitan Police Service (Met) Intelligence on serious and organized crime data collection and intelligence analysis in London. The training provided the selected analysts with different perspectives on crime, intelligence, serious and organized crime groups, data collection and operations, methodology of working with Europol, covert and overt intelligence techniques and tactics. The next stage of the project covers the finalisation of the joint draft SOCTA for Kosovo and Albania.
