Description

The objective of this roundtable is to gather recommendations and good practices that would serve as a basis for legal and regulatory initiatives in the host country, in order to enhance the implementation of the 1997 Convention on the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings.

Summary

OSCE Transnational Threats Department /Action against Terrorism Unit and the OSCE Centre in Bishkek, in co-operation with the UNODC, organise a roundtable in Bishkek where relevant State Ministries and agencies, business community and industries, and international experts will discuss how to enhance, in a collaborative manner, control of explosive substances and AN-fertilizers and chemicals, to hinder criminals and terrorists’ access to them.

The objective is to get recommendations and good practices that could be a basis for legal and regulatory initiatives in the country, in order to enhance the implementation of the 1997 Convention on the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings. The meeting will also serve to review the state of play of Kyrgyzstan’ ratification of the Universal Antiterrorism Instruments.
