Summary

On 25 October, the Mission concluded its support to the Kosovo Police in facilitating eight one-day seminars on intelligence-led policing (ILP) held on September and October at the police headquarters and its seven regional stations. Seminar participants, consisting of police officers from departments of investigation, operations, intelligence and analysis, and border police and intelligence units in the regions; gathered to discuss the level and challenges of ILP implementation in the regions, as well as to present the ILP handbook prepared by the Mission in close co-operation with the Kosovo Police.

The overall objective of these seminars was to raise the awareness of the regional management on the working model of ILP and its effect, as well as to explain the implementation process and the input required from the regional criminal intelligence units. All proposals discussed and recommendations gathered in each of the regions, were presented to the Kosovo Police Department of Intelligence and Analysis at the central level, and joint final findings and recommendations about the identified challenges were agreed.
