Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan trained the police on trafficking and related crimes

Summary

On 28-30 April, the Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan (PCUz) convened a training course for 25 police agents and investigators working in airports and railway stations and representing the Transport Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Tashkent.

The course aimed at building the police officers’ skills to effectively identify and investigate human trafficking cases.

The course was delivered by two UK police experts and focused on current trends and practices of organized crime along with the major investigative approaches in human trafficking cases, including operational techniques to detect and end the activities of human trafficking networks.

By means of a practical exercise the participants tried themselves at questioning victims of human trafficking and developing risk profiles for them.
