Summary

On 1 and 2 March the Presence organised a train-the-trainers course from law enforcement agencies in countering domestic violence. A total of 16 police officers participated, 12 of whom serve as the domestic violence co-ordinators of their region. The training course was conducted by two Albanian experts based on a manual on countering domestic violence prepared by them. Participants learned about the standard operating procedures when dealing with cases of domestic violence; the relevant legislation; and how to build and solve case studies. This is the first in a series of training sessions that will take place in Elbasan, Lezha, Durr ës, Dibër, Vlora and Gjirokastra, where the participants from these regions who received the training will serve as assistant trainers.
