Summary

On 1 and 2 December, the Mission, together with the Ministry of Interior’s Criminal Investigation Directorate, organized the fourth and final regional workshop on investigating and prosecuting financial crimes and corruption and implementing asset forfeiture laws for judges, police and prosecutors. During this workshop, two economic crime forensics experts for fraud and money laundering from the Ministry of Interior trained a total of 36 participants. During the four workshops,16 a total of 125 judges, prosecutors and police officers enhanced their knowledge and co-operation in the fight against economic crime. This activity was part of the Mission’s overall efforts to enhance the capacities of police, prosecution and the judiciary to combat trans-national, serious and organized crime.
